Being qualified in the use of an electric file could be a game-changer in your salon. Proper & professional use of an eFile not only shaves time off of your service lengths, it reduces the stress placed on your arm and adds an extra level of precision to your work.
Manual filing can take its toll on a nail tech and is the single largest cause of injuries such as RSI (repetitive Strain Injury).

Format

Our fully accredited Electric File Workshop is run over the course of half a day, providing you with the skillset and confidence to begin changing the way you think about and complete filing.

Classroom Learning

This one day workshop is held in a classroom environment which allows you to benefit from our NailLab in-house tool range. We understand that purchasing an eFile can be an expensive outlay so you need to choose the right one - which is why we do not require you to purchase an eFile to attend. Instead, you will have full use of one of our eFile on the day.

Course Structure

This condensed, focused, 3 hour workshop is designed to give you both the technical skillset and knowledge base to confidently & effectively use the electric file in your salon work.
Typically, this is a 3 hours workshop running from 10am to 1pm, however we are committed to ensuring all students are catered for so if we need to run over a little, we are happy to do so.
On the day, you will learn:

  • Product Knowledge
    • Learn about the benefits and uses of electric files & understand 'how and when' to use different e-File bits.
  • Safety & Care
    • While learning about the e-File bits - from shape, size, material and function - you will also learn how to clean and disinfect the bits.
  • Practical Experience
    • The best way to learn, is to do - And you have plenty of time for that during this workshop as you make use of our on-site e-Files to practice numerous e-File techniques and functions. The practical skills you will learn include:
     - Removal of product
     - Debulking
     - Reducing product length
     - Preparation of nail for infills
     - Refining product
     - Natural nail prep
     - Cuticle prep
     - Cleaning underside of the nail
     - How to remove lifting

If you are looking to reduce your service duration, maximise your time & profit margin and improve your overall levels of accuracy when removing bulk, shaping the nail or tidying the cuticle area then this course is absolutely right for you.
No prior experience of using an electric file is needed, as we will walk you through the whole process. You will even have have full use of our NailLab e-File and e-File bits on the day so you do not have to purchase them.

e-Files and bits will be available for you to purchase on or before the day if you wish to do so.

The fee for our Electric File Workshop is £120. Included in this fee are:

Do I need to buy any kit?

There are a few items you will need to bring for this course which are listed below. However, the great news is that for those booking to attend in our HQ in Leeds, we are helping you keep the price down by providing you with an e-File to use on the day. For all other venues, students are required to provide their own efile and equivalent bits - these can be purchased via our shop, below)

That's right, you can use one of our on site e-File's as well as our bits, with no obligation to buy, however you can if you wish.

  7. Gel / acrylic brush
  8. Files / buffers
  9. Cleanser (if using gel)

  11. Cuticle pusher
  12. Cuticle nippers / scissors
  13. Base gel (if using gel)
  14. Top gel
  15. Nail wipes
  16. Dust brush
Also, you must be able to work on your own hand so please ensure you have allowed time for your extensions to grow out on at least on hand.

  • Can I start using the e-File once I qualify?
    • Once you are qualified, you must first make sure that you add e-File use to your existing insurance cover, by law.
  • Will I receive a certificate after I complete the course?
    • Absolutely. Successful students will receive an ABT accreditted certificate.
  • Do i need to buy an e-File from you?
    • We do offer high quality e-Files for sale but there is absolutely no obligation to buy. We allow use of our e-Files on the day so you can see how they work and feel.
  • What if I cannot make it to the course?
    • In order to pass, you must attend the full duration of the workshop. In extreme, unavoidable circumstances we can transfer your deposit to an e-File workshop on a later day (subject to availability), however deposits are non-refundable.
  • What is my next step in learning once I qualify?
    • A great question. Nail techs take many different routes to follow their interests or client demands. The natural step after our e-File course is our Russian Manicure course. This is an advanced e-File workshop.
  • How do I get a NailLab account?
    • Once you are booked on your first course, we will automatically create you a NailLab account using your email and a randomly generated password, which you can change once logged in.
